From his documentaries about oil spills to prison baseball teams, DT favorite filmmaker Loren Mendell (C'95, Friars) has now shot a new touching documentary you'll want to check out which premieres this Sunday night (June 20) on Fox Sports (or Comcast or MSG Plus - depending on where you live).
Another great video from Matt Johnson (C'99, Mask and Wig, Phi Kappa Sigma) ...and on this Thanksgiving Day, he wants to teach you how to do the newest dance craze, The Turkey Jerky!
But how do you think the economic downturn has affected undocumented farm workers? Documentary filmmaker, producer and director Loren Mendell (C'95, Friars) journeys into this world with writer/reporter Jason Margolis and shows us that many of these undocumented workers are resistant to speaking up out of fear that they will be deported.
Since May of 2008 Glenn Osten Anderson (C'02) has been working as a correspondent video producer for Runner's World and has covered the US Olympic Trials, New York City Marathon and has done two documentary profiles.

Digg “We wanted to give a sort of 'insiders' view of the meet and the incredible atmosphere -- so we did feature stories, post-race interviews and daily recaps. We also wanted to deliver a really well-produced high quality production. There is a temptation with web-video (especially within the sports world) for fast turnover and thus getting 'something/ anything' up quickly -- we sought to truly produce the pieces like TV packages and the reaction has been fantastic (which helps justify the 22+ hour days out in Eugene).”

DT Favorite filmmaker Matt Johnson (C'99, Mask and Wig, Phi Kappa Sigma) was fed up with the long primary and did something about it. ...He created a funny parody based on the I am Legend trailer!
Per Matt, "The last presidential candidate on earth... is not alone. Yay parody! Boo long primary!"
Watch I am Obama
If you liked that, don't forget to check out Matt's other films about:
He's shown us scantily-clad women spewing corn.
He's warned us about the perils of answering "Coke" in a Pepsi Challenge.
He's delved into the world of a man who cheats on his wife with a vacuum.
And now DT favorite Matt Johnson (C'99, Mask and Wig, Phi Kappa Sigma) wants you to be careful about who you hire for your buddy's bachelor party.
Watch Exotic Dancer and see what I mean (this is good)!
There's something just wrong about what you're about to see...and I say that in a good way!

Submitting a story to Dueling Tampons: What you need to know...
While Loren Mendell (C’95, Class President, Friars) has worked with fellow classmate and Penn alum Rob Pearlstein (C’95) on the Hollywood shorts Matumbo Goldberg and the Oscar nominated Our Time is Up, he’s no stranger to Documentary filmmaking.
In fact, he's quite prolific.
In his latest documentary, Mexico: The Business of Saving Trees, Loren travels with BBC-World reporter Jason Margolis to a remote Mexican forest for the Frontline/World Social Entrepreneurs Series. There they show how a protected reserve can thrive with the dedication of a single schoolteacher who hopes to raise money on the carbon market.
Loren has produced several documentaries, including another environmentally-focused piece on an oil spill in the Philippines, also for PBS Frontline/World.

Glenn Osten Anderson's (C'02, Pennfest 2007) web-video project for The Long Road just got nominated for a Webby Award yesterday and he needs your help.
From the film's press release,
“The Long Road not only builds on our mission to promote exercise and athletics, but gives us the opportunity to profile a unique side of the student athlete community” said Armory Foundation President and New York City Marathon winner Norbert Sander, MD. “ Never before has a documentary been able to go this deep inside the marathon. The unprecedented access afforded to this production by New York Road Runners and The Achilles Track Club helps to craft these powerful and important stories.”Click here to watch his video

Matt Johnson (C'99, Mask and Wig, Phi Kappa Sigma) has been a favorite of mine on DT as he continues to crank out some very funny videos of which he has been producing, directing and even starring in.
This week, I want to showcase another very funny and very absurd short Matt directed for a group called The Apple Sisters. What you're about to see is a "commercial" for one of the "sponsors" of the Apple Sisters' 1943 radio show.
After watching this, I don't think you'll ever want to eat corn again.
