Mike Karz (C'89, W'89) will be producing Sorority Row, a remake of the 1983 horror film The House on Sorority Row.

Per the Hollywood Reporter,

"The plot sees a group of sorority sisters try to cover up the death of their house-sister after a prank gone wrong, only to be stalked and killed by a serial killer."
The film will star Carrie Fisher (still in negotiations), Rumer Willis, Julian Morris, Leah Pipes, Margo Harshman and Briana Evigan.

Today, the film Blindness comes out.

Do you remember when Felisha Liu (W'09) our "Penn in Cannes" correspondent reviewed the film from Cannes back in June 2008?

Read her review from back in June here!

Todd Lieberman's (C'95, Mask and Wig, AEPi) film Beverly Hills Chihuahua comes out in theathers today.

Set your DVR's for Friday, October 10 when Elizabeth Banks (C'96) will appear on The Letterman Show most likely to promote her Zack and Miri Make a Porno and W films.

Liz also appears in this new trailer below for The Uninvited, a horror film which comes out in January 2009. Per shocktillyoutdrop.com, the film's synopsis is as follows:

"Based on Kim Jee-Woon's 2003 Korean chiller, A Tale of Two Sisters, the story revolves around a pair of siblings who return home to their father after spending time in a mental institution. Their recovery is hindered by their cruel stepmother's obsessiveness and an interfering ghost."

As I've been posting here on DT, Kevin Shapiro (C'12) has been vlogging about his experiences as a freshman at Penn.  I think Kevin's vlogs have been a great way to document how someone new to Penn feels. Something for prospects to check out for sure and something for alumni to relive vicariously!

In Kevin's vlog below, he talks about getting kicked out of a lounge for talking about math and also discusses what activities he's gotten involved in so far.

In this second vlog below, Kevin continues by talking about missing home...something we have all felt at one point or another.

So I was on the eliptical yesterday trying to catch up with all the new Fall TV shows that are on my Tivo.  I began to watch The Amazing Race 13 and realized that I went to Penn with one of the contestants!

A half hour after I was done with the elliptical (okay 20 minutes), I checked out cbs.com and after a few google searches realized that Penn alum Sarah Leshner (C'98, W'03) does indeed appear on this season's The Amazing Race 13 with her boyfriend Terence.  They are billed as the "opposites attract" couple.

Check out minute 0:26 of the inro clip above

Logan LevkoffLogan Levkoff (C'98, GSE'99, aka "Mistress Lola" in her undergrad 34th Street days) will be appearing at the Penn Bookstore on Friday Oct. 3rd at 4pm to talk about her book "Third Base Ain't What it Used to Be: What Your Kids are Learning About Sex Today - and How to Teach them to Become Sexually Healthy Adults".  She'll be talking about life after Penn as well as her fight against this administration's (and McCaine's) war on sex.

...Logan not only published this book, but she is on a number of shows chiming in on the current state of sex education. Her work has been featured on countless shows and publications including Good Morning America, Oprah, The Today Show, and The New York Times.

In addition, she writes regular columns for Fit Pregnancy, POZ magazine, and MarieClaire.com.  Check out her clip below from her appearance recently on Good Morning America.

Moses Port (left) and David Guarascio (right)

Penn alumni and writing partners David Guarascio (C'91) and Moses Port (C'91), (former co-producers and writers of Just Shoot Me, last year's Aliens in America and 2001 "Penn in Pictures" panelists) are now developing a new single camera office sitcom for FOX.

Per Variety, their pilot is about
"a twentysomething man who starts taking a mood enhancer called Blisstilan. Snapped out of his funk by the drug, the lead character applies for a job at the pharmaceutical company.  Once there, he must navigate working for his new boss, a high-powered female exec who boasts the nickname "The Velvet Hammer."
