Hold in their talent, that is.
Remember a month ago when we covered this story and video about undergrads peeing on Ben on the Bench?
Well, for some odd reason, there's been more pee-related stories whizzing past me and I can't hold it in any longer... Here wee go... (okay, I'll stop be annoying with these oh-so-clever pee references)
1) Check out this video of "It's a Privilege to Pee" from the undergrads' preview performance of Urinetown (on campus this week from November 15-17).
2) And click here to check out this potty humor of Danish Rhythm's new "revealing" video entitled, Executive Bathroom, starring Gary Lundy (C'05), Spencer Crawford (C'05), Joel Rubin (C'03) and directed by Ryan Baber (C'02).

I found this Penn video on the web and by the looks of it, it looks like some sort of Theta Xi fraternity/date party.

Last night the classes of '93 and '98 got together at a Los Angeles Penn Club happy hour in anticipation for Alumni Weekend 2008. Alumni gathered at the Air Conditioned Lounge in Santa Monica to celebrate their upcoming 5 and 10 year class reunions.
I had to leave early but I managed to get some videos.
Check out who was there!

And now Elizabeth Banks (C'96) is going to "make a porno".
That is, going to star in Kevin Smith's raunchy new comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, Liz will be starring with Knocked Up's Seth Rogen in the title roles as "childhood friends who ask their buddies to make a porno to get them out of debt. Soon everyone begins having sex with everyone, leading the previously platonic Zack and Miri to re-evaluate their chaste relationship."
This sounds great!!

If you like the premise of the TV show "How I Met Your Mother", then you'll absolutely, probably love Elizabeth Banks' (C'96) upcoming February film, Definitely, Maybe.
Just from watching the preview, this momma drama-dy has Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) trying to figure out who her mother is from the three women her father (Ryan Reynolds) once dated. Liz Banks plays one of the three girlfriends.

No this isn't yet another reference for Bee Movie. Nor is it a reference to any sort of film, tv or book.
Instead, click here to check out this video I found on the web of an early version of BeeSiege, a video game project created by 3 UPenn students.

With all of my blogging about undergrad and alumni work, I decided to go back into my own video archive and digitize and re-edit "Love to Go" a 16 mm short film I created for Paul Buck's Filmmaking class back in 1996 starring Josh Styne (C'99, Mask and Wig, Friars).
It amazes me that to create this film, it required some intense splicing and editing in what was a small boiler room under some stairs in a building on 34th Street. No computers, ...no final cut.
As you'll see, this film shows you some glimpses of Penn's campus back in 1996. Plus there's a special guest appearance at the end of the film that most of you older (and possibly younger) alum will appreciate.
Enjoy! I'll have a few more of my films posted soon!

Nick Trasolini (C'11) is $1,000 richer.
Click here to find out why!
At November 3rd's Penn vs. Princeton football game, Nick was picked randomly from the crowd to participate in the Allstate "Good Hands" Field Goal Challenge at halftime. The 25 yard field goal challenge awarded a prize of $1000.
Per Nick, "some guy just walked up to me and asked me if i wanted to do it. If I hadn't made it i would have won two tickets to the next home football game."
Check out Nick's winning kick!

Mitch Teplitsky's (C'80) (in photo to left) got a great story to tell...documentary style.
Featured in Pennfest 2004, Mitch's documentary Soy Andina, tells the story of two New York women raised in different worlds -- an immigrant folk dancer from the Andes, and a modern dancer from Queens, NY -- who return to Peru in search of roots and dance.

Some quotes Mitch has passed on to me from people who have seen the film:
"I just got back from a screening of "Soy Andina" at Lincoln Center. What an inspirational, moving film! I was on the verge of tears throughout the entire screening (happy, proud tears) I was born in Peru and grew up in NY. Your film made me miss my country and reignited the desire to share my culture with my son. Thank you Mitch! By the way, any updates on Cynthia? I really liked her character and a small part of me felt connected to her since I grew up in Queens and my son is half Puerto Rican like her...a Peru Rican :)" - Seanna
"Congratulations on the Lincoln center events. You are an inspiration to all of us in your dedication to your creative spirit. I am planning to be at the Sept 18th showing."- Bill Grover
"I have been following Soy Andina website for quite some time now. I found it by accident surfing the web. It imediately hit a cord with me since I am also half peruvian and have had a desire to discover my roots. Unfortunately I live in the San Francisco area and have not been able to see the movie but am anxiously waiting its arrival. My brother was living in New York and I told him about it. He went to the premiere and loved it. I think it was part of the reason he decided to go to Peru in May for the first time."- Tania
"I love that you made a movie that most of the world, not just LASA Peru Section members, can connect with. The protagonist is so very approachable. We were all youngsters once) and her struggles were different enough to be interesting but similar enough to connect enough. College audiences will act too cool to be moved by the film but they won't forget it. And it's true -- dancing tondero CAN be dangerous."- Tom
"I lived and worked in Peru from 2005-2007 and loved your youtube clips - they brought back lots of memories, and tears to my eyes actually." - Laura"
