For my second installment in my "Funny Friday" series, Danish Rhythm's Spencer Crawford (C'05, Mask and Wig) and Gary Lundy (C'05, Mask and Wig) debate getting a piano tuned...with deadly consequences. Trust me when I say you'll watch this video and get strangely, yet pleasantly drawn in...

Speaking of Danish Rhythm, I recently went to see their monthly live show and it was very funny. Danish Rhythm definitely has a refreshingly absurd sense of humor that gets me invested from the very beginning of their bits. Watch this space for videos from the show! (Their next Los Angeles show is Monday, March 24. More info here.)

Hold in their talent, that is.

Remember a month ago when we covered this story and video about undergrads peeing on Ben on the Bench?

Well, for some odd reason, there's been more pee-related stories whizzing past me and I can't hold it in any longer... Here wee go... (okay, I'll stop be annoying with these oh-so-clever pee references)

1) Check out this video of "It's a Privilege to Pee" from the undergrads' preview performance of Urinetown (on campus this week from November 15-17).

2) And click here to check out this potty humor of Danish Rhythm's new "revealing" video entitled, Executive Bathroom, starring Gary Lundy (C'05), Spencer Crawford (C'05), Joel Rubin (C'03) and directed by Ryan Baber (C'02).

So what happens when you graduate from a performing arts group like Mask and Wig and group members want to continue writing and performing together?

Through the years out here in Los Angeles, there's been a small contingency of Mask and Wiggers that have continued performing sketch comedy. Some, like myself, Todd Lieberman, Norm Golightly and Brian Yanish tried to resurrect working together again in a group called Minus Ten. That lasted for one show and that was that. It was a good try though...

Others have been more persistent and successful with performing sketch comedy.

Take Mask and Wig alumni Gary Lundy (C'05), Spencer Crawford (C'05), Ryan Baber (C'02), Tom Christensen (W'03), Joel Rubin (C'03), and Gabe Laskin (C'05). They have started a group called Danish Rhythm and in addition to a stage show over a year ago, they are now devoted to making original comedic short films. And let me say they've got some smart, irreverent comedy, with some unique Mask and Wig flavor (as you'll see in the Fosse video below).
