Much has happened since Penn alum entertainment journalist Emily Frances froze her eggs on national TV a few years ago.
Recently, Emily has decided to also put a freeze on entertainment, change careers and do what many Penn alumni do best: become an entrepreneur.
After the jump, learn about Emily's tasty new endeavor and her Superbowl themed commercial airing which just recently started airing!

In light of his new recently released Evolver album, John Legend (C'99, Counterparts) was interviewed by 2 different Penn alumni for 2 different mediums.Last week, Penn alum and WPIX Entertainment Reporter Emily Frances interviewed John (see video above). Emily filled me in on some John Legend tidbits that I didn't know:
- Legend is a musical prodigy.
- He started playing the piano at the age of 4 and he started attending the University of Pennsylvania when he was only 16-years-old.
- To fit in with the college crowd, he joined an acapella group (Counterparts).
- Legend was the first in his family to attend college and after he graduated, he worked at Boston Consulting Group for 3 years in NY while he was trying to make it.
- He was an English major and lived in Butcher his freshman year.

What happens when a group of undergrads get together to form a band and they’re still together touring the world over 30 years later?!Ask Eric Bazilian (C’75, Penn Singers, Mask and Wig), Rob Hyman (C’72), and Rick Chertoff (C’72) who are currently touring the world with their band The Hooters.
Over the past 30 years, some notable achievements of theirs include:
- Rob and Eric writing and playing on Cyndi Lauper’s debut album "She’s So Unusual".
- Rob and Cyndi co-writing the hit song "Time After Time".
- Eric and Rob contributing much of the material and instrumentation for the debut album "Relish" for Joan Osborne. Eric's masterfully penned "One Of Us", shot up the charts.
More here about Eric’s beginnings at Penn...+/-
“I got involved with “Uncle Benny's Summer Camp” (also known simply as "The Cabaret" --also featuring Doris Cochran-Fikes (C'72) currently known for being involved in Penn’s Alumni Relations, and now Admissions) also as bandleader and musical director through Todd Feinberg (C'74) who was already in the group as a performer. I joined Mask & Wig spring semester senior year as bass player because I didn't have anything to do over spring break and Florida seemed like a good idea.
Outside of Penn groups, during Eric’s freshman year he played in a band called “Wax” with Rob and Rick and had a band called “Cyclic Blowfield And His Funky Calypsos” (together with Bob Goldman, C’74) which played numerous times at Houston Hall, in the Quad at Spring Fling, various frat houses and many more gigs.”

Penn alum Emmy award winning entertainment reporter Emily Frances is typically the one interviewing celebrities.
This time Emily herself is the subject of a 3 part, very personal story on NY's CW11.
Click here to find out why!
Over the next couple of weeks, Emily will allow the cameras to follow her as she undergoes a procedure to freeze her eggs.
Per the Daily News, Emily is quoted as saying "I represent the not-desperate woman. I'm not desperate to get married. I'm not desperate to have a boyfriend. A lot of women are feeling pressure to have to date, because we know we want to have kids." Further, Emily stated, "I just feel this is a process that's experimental, history-making in a way. As a person, as a human being, I owe it to other women to share this experience. There is a stigma, which is not fair. I feel like a lot of women researching this are embarrassed to admit it."
