If you've been watching the Olympics, you probably have seen standup comedian Josh Rabinowitz's (C '10) commercial as the "Apple Genius" helping people out in some funny situations.

Comedian Whitney Cummings (C'03) is definitely getting around and becoming a Comedy Central favorite.
She roasted Joan Rivers (and it was harsh!) and recently David Hasselhoff (also harsh!).
This weekend, she has her own Comedy Central special airing (8/21, 11:30 pm/10:30c) and I'll let the title of the show, "Money Shot" speak for itself...
Check out her NSFW clip from the show after the jump!
As part of my Valentine's Day Sampler Week, stand-up Aaron Karo (W'01) has some NSFW advice for all those post-coital "lingerers"..."The Fresh Faces workshop is a 5 week workshop taking you from never doing stand up to a 5 minute set at The Hollywood Improv. The class is all about finding your individual point of view and getting personal . If you have a life you're a comedian. It's a fun energized class that takes the mystique out of the daunting process of creating a set and leaves you with a slight addiction to getting up on stage. If you think you want to try stand up but never knew where to begin this is the class for you. Go to www.myspace.com/ffcomedy and check out some of the past graduates. Workshops are ongoing. To sign up for the next workshop email Lesley Wolff at Lesleywolff@gmail.com. Remember...'If anyone else can do your set...it's not your set'."
As reported on DT, stand-up Aaron Karo's (W'01, Pennfest 2006) multimedia empire seems to be growing rather quickly.
Of the success of his past viral video hit "I'm the Kind of Guy You Meet at 4am", Matt Rittberg (Penn Law 2005) has now come up with a funny spoof based on Goldman Sachs outrageous compensation and Wall Street excess.
Last year I did a post about Whitney Cummings (C'03) being one of Entertainment Weekly's "12 Future Stars of Comedy".
Watch Lesley put her comedic spin on these secrets in the video clip above."A lot of my standup focuses on relationships and the ridiculous things guys say to try to get girls when they are trying to hook up (ex- the line about having an extra pair of gym shorts and the "no jeans" in the bed rule is something everyone who is single has said or heard before). Also, I lived in the Meatpacking district in NY, and I always see drunken girls stumbling out of bars at 4 am and random creepy guys hitting on them on the streets at hot dog stands etc. Watching those interactions (and occasionally partaking in them) inspired the song. More than anything, I hope it doesn't come off as misogynistic...after all, I'm warning girls and probably breaking some sort of guy code by giving away some of our dirty tricks!"

Digg "Recorded live in Boston at the Comedy Connection in Faneuil Hall, “Just Go Talk To Her” begins in a peculiar fashion - New York native Aaron Karo professes his love for the Yankees and Giants until the rabid Boston crowd showers him with boos. Those boos quickly turn to raucous cheers as Karo’s trademark brand of storytelling - fast-paced personal anecdotes about drinking, dating, and debauchery - win over even the most hardened Red Sox fans. Whether he’s divulging the secrets that all guys keep from their girlfriends or picking apart the foibles of married couples, Karo excels at taking universal experiences and turning them on their head."Listen to his track below entitled "Chicks Love Sweatpants". Another alum just made another Hollywood list."Why We Think She'll Be Big: Behind her model-like smile is a filthy, filthy mouth. The wickedly raunchy comedian — she wrote for the Bob Saget roast — finds time between incessant gigs for films (Made of Honor) and TV (MyNetworkTV's The Tony Rock Project).Recently, I asked Whitney about which activities at Penn helped put her on the road to becoming a stand-up...
Why She Thinks She'll Be Big: ''If I don't, I'm gonna make a sex tape with Aziz [Ansari]. There are no shortcuts, so I tend to be a workaholic. My hobby is my job. I'd be doing it for free. Which I think a lot of us do anyway.''"
"I had a show on the Penn tv station that was a goofy cooking show with a friend of mine. I took Carolyn Marvin's class on the first amendment at Annenberg and it made me want to challenge taboos, and I tend to do that in my work as a stand up -we had a bunch of discussions and classes on Carlin's words you can never say on television-it got me really into carlin, even more so than i already was -that had a huge impact on me-and it made me want to push the envelope in whatever I ended up doing in my life. That class really made me interested in taboos and if you've seen my stand-up [see video above] you know I tend to explore and play with a lot of them. I tend to push the boundaries on network television and dive in to topics that society deems inappropriate - and whenever I deal with censorship it makes me think of that class I took at Penn.More on Whitney's website here

If you’ve ever been at the bar and observed something hilarious, if you’ve ever been in the shower or on the treadmill and had a thought you just couldn’t get out of your head, if you’ve ever read my column and thought, “Hell, I could do that.” – well, now’s your chance."DT CATCHES YOU UP ON AARON KARO

I mean it gave me sense memory of Penn... of the Walk when it was cold, or being in McNeill with Abiel, or being in German class, or taking 20 extra minutes to get to class because of seeing everyone I knew on Locust Walk, or people that sat in my classes that are now really famous or important... just a great site"
