We've seen other stellar Penn promotional videos in the past, but this one is truly classic as this 30 minute(!) video comes from 1957!

At first I thought it was a prank where someone ran a viddy-like filter through a video, but as I got deeper into the video I realized it was the real deal! It even has that narrator's voice you'd think it would have. The biggest thing I've noticed was that the campus was much more green and lush --ivy growing on everything, huge trees on Locust Walk.

This past weekend Penn was swarming with reminiscent alumni returning to campus and eager seniors anticipating Monday's graduation.
Before the seniors wrap it all up, Mask and Wig delivered their annual "Ode to the Ivy" speech. Watching it definitely will take you back to your own memorable graduation week.

A couple of weeks ago, we covered the brilliant musical mind of Tom Christensen (W'03, Mask and Wig) as he competed in a national musical improv competition.
After a total of 216 improvisors entered into the Improv tournament, Tom, on behalf of "North Dakota" (the only one-man team) won four heated battles and then the championship!

Over the past 4+ years, I've covered lots of alumni performing improv.
There is one particular style of improv that has really caught my eye, or I should say ear: the musical improv.
After the jump, watch how Tom Christensen's (W'03, Mask and Wig) mind works as he spins the suggested phrase "You go get her boy" into a one-man musical about: a boy who crushes on a girl, a dorky chemistry teacher, jealous friends ruling the school, a frank conversation between a mother and son, and "popular girls".
And don't blame if you find yourself humming the tune to his featured "I'm not a date rapist" song all day.
Seriously, watch how his mind works.

Over the past few years, DT has followed the great journey Brian Yanish (C'95, Mask and Wig) has been taking with his his Scrap Kins childrens property.
What started out as a few sketches from Brian's childhood has turned into a NYC-based Creativity program for kids based on the adventures of a group of monsters that live in a recycling center and build their world out of the things we throw away.
For you parents and educators out there, after the jump find out about Brian's fantastic new book that will keep your children occupied for hours.

Yesterday Scott Spitzer from the Office of University Communications created a FANTASTIC video stitching together the photos he took of this year's Mask and Wig club show, "A Volcanic Corruption: Sun Intended", from its beginning rehearsals at the historic downtown clubhouse to its show debut last weekend.

In this video, "Price Is Right" announcer Rich Fields trains hard with coach Lou Ferrigno, aka "The Hulk", to become the greatest announcer of all time. As a result, he can't turn it off, and drives his wife crazy!

Being the proud Mask and Wig alum that I am, it is no secret that I love promoting anything having to do with this group which is so rich with history (dating back to 1889!).
On that note, last summer I showed you a great clip of the Mask and Wig Club being referenced in a 1937 Warner Brothers film. And now, as part of my "Blast from the Past" series, I have another classic Mask and Wig clip!
The club has been doing their signature "kickline" forever and for years, even when I was in college, I had heard they were once on "The Ed Sullivan Show".
Well now I have video proof!
