Recently, Liz Banks (C'96) has stepped behind the camera to produce a new film called "Pitch Perfect" (based off of this book) with her Penn alum producer husband Max Handleman (C'95, AEPi), all about competitive collegiate a cappella groups.

The trailer for Liz Banks' (C'96) new film Man on a Ledge looks real good.
In the film Liz plays an NYPD crisis negotiator who tries to talk Sam Worthington's detective character off a ledge. Liz's character happens to have also had a relationship with Worthington who was framed for a crime he didn't commit (sort of like Liz's character in THIS film). The suicide attempt is actual a distraction for Worthington's brother (played by Jamie Bell) to commit a robbery across the street!Will you go see this film?

Emmy-nominated Liz Banks (C'96, Tri-Delt) is more than just a pretty face and talented actress.
Over the years we've seen her giving back by standing up to cancer and lending her support to latchkey kids.
Now Liz has teamed up with the American Heart Association for the "Go Red for Women" campaign and stars and directed a PSA about knowing the signs of when you're having a heart attack.

The news from "Glee" is not getting our starter actress Jess Garvey (C'09) down.
Jess has already shot "Blowin Up", a TV pilot described as "Entourage" meets "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" that is being shopped around for development season.
Her role: "Camilla- bubbly, positive and spoiled. Sincere in her convictions which are usually 95% retarded. Makes her lovable. Seeks guidance from best friend Morgan". Jess actually got the role in large part because of the Starter Actress reality series; per Jess, "the pilot is like my series but in scripted form"!

If you caught "Curb Your Enthusiasm" last night, you would have seen Larry David dating a waitress from his favorite restaurant played by Penn alum Rebecca Creskoff.
If you recall, we've seen Rebecca playing Lenore, a "classy pimp" on HBO's other hit series, "Hung".

If you saw the first episode of "True Blood" this past week, and then had to go to your HBO GO app to watch the second episode ("You Smell Like Dinner"), you would have seen Penn alum Marcus McGee (C'01) make a cameo as "James".

A couple of weeks ago, we covered the brilliant musical mind of Tom Christensen (W'03, Mask and Wig) as he competed in a national musical improv competition.
After a total of 216 improvisors entered into the Improv tournament, Tom, on behalf of "North Dakota" (the only one-man team) won four heated battles and then the championship!

Over the course of us following actress Jess Garvey (C'09) in her "Starter Reality Star" series on DT, she has achieved quite a bit (from going on lots of auditions to booking commercials).
