Last year, working artist Joan Myerson Shrager (College for Women, School of Education '60) led the effort with the First United Methodist Church of Germantown to create stained glass windows to be sent to a school for AIDS orphans in South Africa.

This year the group decided to donate their work to another school - this one rebuilding in a flood damaged area of New Orleans.

Per this newsworks article,

"Whether it’s bridging gaps left over from the classroom, transforming football players into glass artists, or bringing artistic suburban white women into the neighborhood to work with black students - often providing lessons for both sides of that equation, the stained glass program at FUMCOG tends to generate special moments."

After the jump, watch the video of these high school students at work during the process of creating stained glass projects.  It's pretty cool and the video actually feels like a good documentary.

Maybe there is an alum documentary filmmaker out there interested in exploring this story a bit more?

Last week I covered a story about two Penn alum sister realtors starring on a new reality show.   While we're on the topic of New York real estate, I thought you'd all be interested to check out the real estate of Penn alum John Legend (C'99).

A decade ago John Legend shared an East Village apartment with 2 Penn friends. Now he's living the life there in a much, much nicer space.

Check out his sweet NY pad in NY Home Design magazine HERE

Are you really surprised? :)

Over the years, I have featured Whitney Cummings (C'03) on DT about her Comedy Central special and the various roasts she's been a part of. Her humor is downright dirty and I love it.

Now she is doing a bunch of notable "A"-list TV projects you should look out for in the coming year.

More after the jump!

Sort of.

If you saw the first episode this past Monday of this season's "The Bachelor" with Brad Womack (or if you don't watch it and a Penn alum tells you about it ...like me), you would have seen that "Ashley" (not a Penn alum), the Philadelphia native, was filmed on Penn's campus sitting next to "Ben on the Bench".

After the jump, check out the video clip!
