That is, going to star in Kevin Smith's raunchy new comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, Liz will be starring with Knocked Up's Seth Rogen in the title roles as "childhood friends who ask their buddies to make a porno to get them out of debt. Soon everyone begins having sex with everyone, leading the previously platonic Zack and Miri to re-evaluate their chaste relationship."
This sounds great!!

This photo was just released from the set of Elizabeth Banks' (C'96) upcoming film Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
There is an article in yesterday's USA Today which asks the question, "Will potential viewers be turned off because the film has "porno" in the title?"
What do you think? Comment below!
Have you checked out the viral video Liz did with Seth Rogen on the set of this movie?

In anticipation of her Zack and Miri Make a Porno film coming out this Friday (October 31), there are a bunch of videos going around the web featuring Elizabeth Banks (C'96) and Seth Rogan. Some a little more strange (and I say that in a good way) than others. Take a look at the ones I've found above...especially the top one.
With the coming out of her W and Porno movies in the same month, Liz has definitely reached the most exposure she's gotten yet! This month I've seen her appear:
- in Entertainment Weekly
- on the Ellen Show (yesterday)
- in USA Today (watch a video of her on a Trapeze!)
- And tune in this Friday night (or DVR this because you'll be out partying for Halloween) when she appears on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
With at least 2 more movies coming out in the next few months, it should be interesting to see where this all takes Liz!

Over the past 2 months, Liz has been up to so much lately that I figured I would consolidate much into this one post:
1) She announced the Golden Globe nominations on NBC with Brooke Shields, Terrence Howard and Rainn Wilson. She also was a presenter at the actual Golden Globes ceremony.
2) L'Oréal hired Liz as a spokesperson for the company for allegedly $1 million!
3) Today Liz stars in The Uninvited, a new horror flick that is similar in nature to The Ring. (check out the video below for a preview and an interview with Liz)
4) This year look out for her to appear on Scrubs and in the movie The Surrogates (which she is also producing with her husband Max Handelman (C'95) and Penn alum producer Todd Lieberman (C'95)!)

- why LA is "wussy town"
- her childhood Halloween costume
- her favorite blog
- her husband Max Handelman's (C'95, AEPi) wig fetish
- Her new hobby that is "fun", "unusual" and now a new addiction!
- A funny story about a reporter who confused Liz with another celebrity!

Okay this is very funny and very not safe for work.
Elizabeth Banks (C'96) has now officially done every medium. She's done films, TV, and print and now she's part of the youtube viral video phenomenon.
Over the past few months, you may recall the viral videos that have been going around the web from a joke on the Jimmy Kimmel Show about Sarah Silverman "blank"-ing" Matt Damon. And then Jimmy Kimmel's celebrity-filled response.
Now (probably from the set of Kevin Smith's new comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno) Liz has done a, um, similar one with Seth Rogen about what it takes to get ahead in Hollywood.

Hot on the heels of completing shooting for Kevin Smith's upcoming comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Elizabeth Banks (C'96) is in final talks to play a serious role (this time) from an esteemed Hollywood director...
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Oliver Stone has chosen Liz to play Laura Bush(!) in a film about the presidency of George W. Bush (played by Josh Brolin).
Liz is quite the versatile actress as she manages to easily transition from comedy (>Wet Hot American Summer, Slither, 40 Year Old Virgin) to drama (Seabiscuit, The Heights, Invincible). If Liz's career isn't big enough, playing Laura Bush in an Oliver Stone film should help to catapult her career even more!

Did you see Liz Banks (C'96) last night on the Valentine's Day episode of "30 Rock" where she played a CNBC political correspondent and love interest to Alec Baldwin's character? She then appeared on Letterman a couple hours later and talked to Dave about "checking her dignity at the door" when she used to audition for commercials in her NY days (see video above). Liz also revealed that she will be on "30 Rock" for "the rest of the season". (As you may recall, Liz was on Letterman last year when she was promoting her films "W

Over this past year, I have been reporting that Liz will be starring in the upcoming Kevin Smith film, Zach and Miri Make a Porno (October 31). There's been all sorts of good buzz surrounding this film.
Recently Kevin Smith managed to get the ratings committee to bring the film's rating from NC-17 down to an R. And news came yesterday that the film will actually be closing the Woodstock Film festival.
Now, the red band trailer for this film just came out and it looks very funny.

Actress Elizabeth Banks (C'96) has been doing everything from comedies, to dramas to horror films. Well, come this Sunday, she's about to saddle up and do a Western in CBS's Comanche Moon, the 3 part series prequel to the Pulitzer prize winning book, "Lonesome Dove".
Liz plays Maggie Tilton, a young prostitute who bears a son to the Texas Ranger Woodrow F. Call.
...Yes, Liz typically does play the young sexy roles as you may recall from Wet Hot American Summer (a favorite movie of mine!) to The 40 Year Old Virgin. And yes, she plays them all well!
Speaking of sexy roles, I'm looking forward to seeing her as "Mimi" in the upcoming Kevin Smith film, Zach and Miri Make a Porno. In fact, Kevin Smith just posted on his blog today that rehearsals for the film have just started and Liz and Seth Rogen are "genius together".
Click here for more of the Comanche Moon plot details and air dates
Check out check out Liz's other exciting TV and film projects
Per cbs.com:
"Val Kilmer, Steve Zahn, Rachel Griffiths, Karl Urban, Linda Cardellini, Elizabeth Banks and Wes Studi star in COMANCHE MOON, a new six-hour mini-series based on the book by Larry McMurtry, and the final chapter in the "Lonesome Dove" saga to be made into a movie, will air Sunday, January 13, Tuesday, January 15 and Wednesday, January 16 at 9pm et/pt. Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winners Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana are the executive producers and writers.
COMANCHE MOON, the prequel to McMurtry's bestselling and Pulitzer Prize-winning book, "Lonesome Dove," which was the basis for the multiple Emmy Award-winning mini-series "Lonesome Dove," follows Texas Rangers Augustus "Gus" McCrae (Zahn) and Woodrow F. Call (Urban), now in their middle years, as they continue to deal with the ever-increasing tensions of adult life--Gus with his great love, Clara Forsythe (Cardellini), and Call with Maggie Tilton (Banks), the young prostitute who loves him and bears him his son, Newt (Joseph Castanon). Kilmer plays Captain Inish Scull, a Yankee aristocrat and hero of the recently concluded Mexican War. Griffiths plays Inez Scull, the Captain's sexy wife who doesn't hesitate to fill her time with other men when he's away from home. Wes Studi plays Comanche Chief Buffalo Hump.
Two proud but very different men, McCrae and Call enlist with a Ranger troop in pursuit of three outlaws: Buffalo Hump, the great Comanche war chief; Kicking Wolf (Jonathon Joss), the celebrated Comanche horse thief; and Ahumado (Sal Lopez), a deadly Mexican bandit king with a penchant for torture. Assisting the Rangers in their wild chase is the renowned Kickapoo tracker Famous Shoes (David Midthunder). They are joined by their comrades-in-arms, Deets (Keith Robinson), Jake Spoon (Ryan Merriman) and Pea Eye Parker (Troy Baker), in the bitter struggle to protect an advancing western frontier against the defiant Comanches who are determined to defend their territory and their way of life. The Rangers also encounter Buffalo Hump's violent outcast son, Blue Duck (Adam Beach)."
Comanche Moon airs in 3 parts:
Sunday, January 13, 9pm et/pt
Tuesday, January 15, 9pm et/pt
Wednesday, January 16, 9pm et/pt
