Matt Capeletti (W'12) & Diana Kattan (W'12) are about to present students around the world with a way to get help with their studies ..for free.

But they need your help.

Matt and Diana are semifinalists with the Dell Social Innovation Competition and are seeking support for their website http://www.tutorchatlive.org.

Per Matt and Diana,

"As high school students, we realized the struggle that many face in getting help and understanding material. The use of a tutor can be a very valuable resource but they are often very expensive and many therefore cannot afford one. We decided to create a solution to this social problem by creating TutorChatLive.org, an easily accessible FREE online tutoring resource where any student around the world can log on and receive free tutoring through our live chat software."

Anyone can register and vote to support Matt and Diana's idea HERE.

Matt explains that at present, they do not have tutors available on their site because they are working on updating it and securing necessary funding to properly launch the project. Their main focus now is spreading the word about supporting their project with the Dell Social Innovation Competition.

Regardless of winning, they plan on launching the site in September 2009.

Apparently Computertan.com, was set up (not by Penn) to promote the work of a skin cancer charity in the UK.

See what happens when you click on Computertan.com and opt for the "free five minute trial"! (warning there are some graphic images here).

While this post is an April fools joke, there actually is a clever message on this site warning us against dangerous UV Exposure.

Back in October, I posted about how you could enter the Wharton Business Plan Competition.  

Now almost 6 months later, the video above features six of the 25 Wharton Business Plan Competition Semi-Finalists. They include a

• robotic toy and online community for kids and young adults
• an apparel business leveraging the growth of "kite-sailing"
• a wound diagnostic concept whose team includes a former Wharton BPC semi-finalist. 

In the video above, learn more about some of these inventions, what motivated the teams to create their products, and what types of potential they see in the marketplace.

It's student election season at UPenn and my facebook feed is loaded with lots of "Vote [insert name] for [insert position]!" tweets.

As I mentioned in my posts from last year, some of the more proactive candidates are really getting creative with how they are promoting themselves.  It is no longer enough to just canvas the campus and the kiosks with flyers.

It's now all about facebook election posts, groups and videos!
