Over the past couple of years, DT has covered the fun robotic innovations that have come out of Penn.
This past week, Penn created a robot that threw out the first pitch at a Phillies game. (Once again, Penn representing at a Phillies game)
After the jump, check out the video and find out why the robot's engineers were told to reduce the speed of the pitch.
Apparently, last year the Phillie Phanatic broke its wrist catching a pitch. At the last minute, the Phanatic had some cold feet and asked the robot's engineers to turn the pitching arm's power down, so as not to hurt the Phanatic's wrist again. (after the Phanatic catches the ball, watch him point to his wrist)
