History Channel

If you got a BA at Penn in Classics, and then went on to get your PhD in Classics from UT Austin, as well as a Fullbright scholarship and an American Academy in Rome fellowship, you just know the History Channel is going to be knocking at your door...

And they are for Penn alum Darius A. Arya, (C'93, DKE, Water Polo, Classics)...

Having pursued an academic career in classics and archaeology, over the years Dar has been requested as an "expert" on History, National Geographic and Discovery channel documentaries and series.

Starting tonight at 9pm EST, Dar will be presenting as an expert on the History Channel's, "Ancients Behaving Badly". The show is described as "a new gritty examination into the psyche of some of history's worst leaders

Here's the press release:
"Utilizing archaeology and forensic profiling each week, Darius explores some of history’s most interesting personalities and the motivations behind their most famous, notorious actions.

Tapped by the History Channel, National Geographic, and Discovery on previous archaeology programs, Dr. Darius Arya expands his role as an illustrative guide into the ancient world. Travel with him to some of the most compelling sites in antiquity, where these protagonists immortalized their names: Capri, Tyre, Budapest, and more!

Episode list:
November 6 Caligula
November 13 Attila the Hun
November 20 Julius Caesar
December 4 Hannibal
December 11 Genghis Khan
December 18 Nero,
Late December: Alexander the Great & Cleopatra
