Recently a Penn alum sent me an email about the heartfelt story of fellow Penn alum Emily Kramer-Golinkoff (C'07) and her battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

Over the past year, I've done stories on our very own "21st Century Girl" rocker, aka Carly Greenberg (C'05) and all the TV shows she's been singing the theme songs for.
The last time we checked in with Penn alum Hollywood actor Alex Weber (C'09, Lacrosse), he had a cameo on "The Young and the Restless".
Recently, Liz Banks (C'96) has stepped behind the camera to produce a new film called "Pitch Perfect" (based off of this book) with her Penn alum producer husband Max Handleman (C'95, AEPi), all about competitive collegiate a cappella groups.
Since the summer we've seen some great Muppet promos, but today Todd Lieberman's (C'95, AEPi, Mask and Wig) 98% Rotten Tomatoes rated Muppet Movie finally hits theaters!

In the first episode of "Classless", Steve, a student who has been shunned by the school newspaper goes on a mission to create a second student newspaper. In doing so it looks likehe'll be getting second-rate journalists as well. Laughter of course ensues.

When I was watching the 2nd episode this week, a Penn alum's name in the opening credits surprisingly caught my eye. And she happens to have had a pretty big role in the show.

Last week Los Angeles Penn alumni gathered in Hollywood to celebrate some great emerging Penn talent.
In the film Liz plays an NYPD crisis negotiator who tries to talk Sam Worthington's detective character off a ledge. Liz's character happens to have also had a relationship with Worthington who was framed for a crime he didn't commit (sort of like Liz's character in THIS film). The suicide attempt is actual a distraction for Worthington's brother (played by Jamie Bell) to commit a robbery across the street!
Recently at a Los Angeles Penn event, I bumped into Penn alum Rob Golenberg (W'87, ZBT). Rob has been in the Hollywood biz now for over 20 years now and is currently the VP and Head of TV Literary and Packaging at the Gersh Agency. (I've known about Rob for years now because some Penn friends have had great experiences working for him.)
