Watch her talk him down from a ledge

The trailer for Liz Banks' (C'96) new film Man on a Ledge looks real good.

Elizabeth Banks and Man on a Ledge and UPennIn the film Liz plays an NYPD crisis negotiator who tries to talk Sam Worthington's detective character off a ledge.  Liz's character happens to have also had a relationship with Worthington who was framed for a crime he didn't commit (sort of like Liz's character in THIS film).  The suicide attempt is actual a distraction for Worthington's brother (played by Jamie Bell) to commit a robbery across the street!

Will you go see this film?

So you wanna be a Hollywood agent? Listen to this Penn alum's advice

Rob Golenberg and UPenn and Gersh Agency and HollywoodRecently at a Los Angeles Penn event, I bumped into Penn alum Rob Golenberg (W'87, ZBT).  Rob has been in the Hollywood biz now for over 20 years now and is currently the VP and Head of TV Literary and Packaging at the Gersh Agency.  (I've known about Rob for years now because some Penn friends have had great experiences working for him.)

As you've seen in many of the Hollywood alumni I cover on DT, no one person's path is the same.  In Rob's case, he made a big career change early on in his career to Hollywood and has had quite an interesting journey since!

After the jump, learn more about Rob's path from Penn to Hollywood agent and his solid advice to anyone looking to becoming an agent or getting into the entertainment business.

A must read for any Penn alum or undergrad looking to go Hollywood!

Elizabeth Banks has Heart Attack for a Cause

UPenn and Elizabeth Banks starring in 'Just a Little Heart Attack'

Emmy-nominated Liz Banks (C'96, Tri-Delt) is more than just a pretty face and talented actress.

Over the years we've seen her giving back by standing up to cancer and lending her support to latchkey kids.

Now Liz has teamed up with the American Heart Association for the "Go Red for Women" campaign and stars and directed a PSA about knowing the signs of when you're having a heart attack.

After the jump, watch how Liz adds the funny to this serious issue (my favorite line is at minute 2:26) and learn why it's such a personal issue for her.
