From Scooby Doo to Family Guy to South Park to the Simpsons, His 66 Impersonations are Spot On! (VIDEO)
What happens when you graduate from Penn and have a little too much time on your hands?
Ask Adam El Sehamy (C'09, Pennchants) who is currently studying for the MCAT and has created this very entertaining video of him doing over 6 minutes(!) of cartoon voiceover impersonations....and they are spot on!
And if you remember, we already know how good he's been at characters when he took on the role of THIS superhero.
Check out the video above, and per Adam, ...see which impression he is "pretty sure going to hell for"
Note to Los Angelino Penn alumni, while Adam plans on applying to medical school next year, and is in Philly right now doing a year of post bac work to boost his credentials, he has a year off after that. He hopes to go to LA and express his creative side (singing, modeling, cartoon voiceovers). "Then if I completely fail, " says Adam, "I always have med school to fall back on and at least I can say I tried."
Perhaps Adam can follow in the footsteps of Doctor and actor Roy Vongtama (C'96)?

The Mask and Wig Club Tradition Referenced in Warner Brothers Film & Why This May Be My Favorite Post So Far (VIDEOS)
This could be one of my favorite "Now and Then Thursdays" series posts thus far...
There is a 1937 film called Varsity Show which references Penn and The Mask and Wig Club (thanks Anthony Maggio C'09!). As you'll see in the short somewhat hokey clip above, the group of band players chant Mask and Wig's age old song, "There's Only Room For One." Of course I have a particular appreciation for this as I was in Mask and Wig myself.
That said, watch the tradition continue with the following video clip I also got my hands on thanks to Neil Radisch (C'86, Mask and Wig)....a video of the 1985 Mask and Wig group's rendition of the same chant! The clip was from their annual show of "Irreverance Of Things Past".
As you may recall I once compared 2 Mask and Wig videos before from 1994 and 2007 (see the post HERE). As you'll note in both sets of videos in this post, it's fascinating to me that while traditions are maintained, each generation takes that tradition and makes it their own.
...Speaking of how things don't change, check out my other favorite Now and Then Thursday post:

What do you think a guy who DJed in his senior year (under the name Metafizik) and hosted weekly parties at 4010 Spruce (a house known as "Browntown") went on to do?
While he's not a DJ anymore, Nihal Mehta (C'99, Pi Lam fraternity, see picture to left) is still tapped into everything "nightlife" and is sharing it you with his web based and mobile free service called buzzd.
buzzd is the premier location-sensitive city guide and social network for your mobile phone. buzzd answers “what’s going on around me right now?™” by delivering up-to-the-minute info on bars, restaurants, concerts and events in a specific set location. buzzd features listings from Flavorpill, Time Out, Citysearch, ZAGAT, Upcoming as well as real-time posts (“buzzes”) from members of the buzzd community. Create a profile, add/invite friends and – if you post a “buzz” – it is sent as a text-message to your nearby friends in the network.
Recently, Nihal released a new BlackBerry application in that has been among the most downloaded apps since its release, and was covered in such outlets like the New York Times. (Mehta received funding from Blackberry Partners Fund, who are interested in funding entertainment ventures that are on the mobile phone. )
John Legend (C'99), Aaron Jones (W'99) of Hip-Hop Act Dujeous, Ted Chung (W'99), who is running Snoop's Label, DJ Bunnylove, Paras Shah (C'99), Nimo Patel (W'01) and Swapnil Shah (C'99) of Rap Group Karmacy, Sumit Bothra (W'99), now President of Embargo Management and Max Blumenthal (C'99), MC and current writer for TheDailyBeast and Huffington Post.
Years later Nihal started the first mobile marketing firm which was bought by Omnicom Group in 2005. From there, Nihal got the idea for buzzd, which he founded in 2006 which was essentially his first idea: Philly2nite on a phone.
Nihal is yet another example of Penn friends working together as he continues to work with Vijay who is an investor and advisor in the company.
