Another Penn alum fashionista guest judges on Project Runway

UPenn and Stacey Bendet and Fashionista and Project Runway

Over the past couple of years on "Project Runway", we've seen this mega fashionista guest judge and this Penn alum appear as a contestant.

Last night a 3rd Penn alum appeared on the show and guest judged alongside Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. And we learned she's "not a fan of voluminous wee wee pads" and she "loves sparkle".

After the jump, learn more about Stacey Bendet (C'99) and her story from her fashion beginnings at Penn to becoming a web designer to running a 50 million dollar company!

Saved By the Bell meets Final Destination: His Brilliant Viral Hit

UPenn and Jake Avnet and Final Destination and Saved by the Bell

Over the years I've featured brilliant, high quality viral hits from producer Jake Avnet (C'05, Co-Chairman of Undergraduate Film Advisory Board, Founder of the Lecture Series, "Talking Film").

We're talking awesone films about Trojan condoms, a very NSFW short with Scott Baio, a film with the real Jersey Shore cast, and another NSFW film about "love needing a hand."

UPenn and Jake Avnet and Final Destination and Saved by the BellJake just launched "NEW ROMANCE", a new video you MUST watch which has all the cheesiness of "Saved By the Bell" combined with the horror of the Final Destination films.

After the jump, check out the video and find out how Jake got to do this short for Warner Brothers!

"Penn Live": Perform at this popular LA Penn event!

UPenn and Pennfest and Penn Live

As you may recall, for 6 years here in LA and one year in NY, I had created a Penn "emerging talent" Pennfest event showcasing the work of Penn filmmakers and musicians.

I am now happy to report that Pennfest has evolved.  The event will now be split up into a performance-themed night and a film showcase night and is now being led by the brilliant and super creative team of Jeni Sue Birnbaum (C'08), Aimee Musil (C'06), Allison Karic (C'09), and EJ Baker (C'09).

First up is "Penn Live" to be held at the Dragonfly in Hollywood on 9/21.

After the jump find out how you can submit yourself to the "Penn Live" committee!

She heard back from "Glee"

A couple weeks ago Penn alum actress Jess Garvey (C'09) shared her singing audition video that got her a callback on "Glee".

Since then, Jess has some good news, not such good news, and then "amazing" news.

After the jump, catch up with the ups and downs of being an LA actress!

Their Facebook Pop Song Battle and his life after Penn

Recently on DT, I featured Rebecca Cook (C'11, Counterparts) a super talented new alum who did an awesome cover of an Adele song.

Turns out over the past 2 years, Rebecca has been involved in a friendly "pop song battle" with another super talented Penn (and Counterparts) classmate of hers.

After the jump, meet Johnny Lloyd (Mortar Board, Counterparts, iNtuitons '11) and check out his soulful cover of "Bills Bills Bills" by Destiny's Child.

Also, learn about how this recent grad is transitioning to life after Penn and keeping it in the arts with some other Penn friends of his.

Larry David "talks and makes out" with this Penn alum :)

UPenn and Rebecca Creskoff and Curb Your Enthusiasm

If you caught "Curb Your Enthusiasm" last night, you would have seen Larry David dating a waitress from his favorite restaurant played by Penn alum Rebecca Creskoff.

If you recall, we've seen Rebecca playing Lenore, a "classy pimp" on HBO's other hit series, "Hung".

After the jump, check out some clips from last night's Curb episode where Larry chastises Rebecca's character for sending "smiley faces" in text messages and then insults her by discussing "the sorry window"! Fantastic stuff!

...Also, find out about Rebecca's "interesting" first acting job after grad school!
