Penn Alum Hollywood power couple's Pitch Perfect film

I'm sure you've heard all about it by now, but today, Pitch Perfect, the hot, rotten-tomatoes highly rated film by Penn film producers Elizabeth Banks (C'96) and husband Max Handelman (C'95, AEPi) comes out!

If you recall, in an interview she did promoting the film, Liz had referenced a Penn a capella group from her time at Penn that she thought was "the most amazing version" she's ever heard in her life.

On a related Penn alum note, Melisa Kirkup (C'01), Universal Pictures marketing director shared a 60-second lip-dub Pitch Perfect video her team produced, featuring the hit Nicki Minaj song “Starships”!

Lady Gaga tweeted about THIS Penn alum's video poem

I've talked about my obsession with the talented and passionate Penn undergrads and alumni who specialize in spoken word. Specifically, over the years, the impassioned Caroline Rothstein (C'06, The Excelano Project) continues to wow.

And I'm not just noticing it, but today, so did Lady Gaga!


Yesterday, Lady Gaga tweeted about Caroline's performance of "Fat" to her 30 million followers!

I must say how impressed I've been seeing all of the organized Flash Mobs from the Penn undergrads through the years.

Did you see this Penn alum win on the Emmy stage tonight?

By the looks of my Facebook feed, just like previous year's Emmys, there were a bunch of Penn alumni at tonight's Emmy Ceremony.

If you caught the "Homeland" win for Best Drama tonight, you would have heard a thank you to writer and Penn alum Meredith Stiehm (C'90).
