Hollywood Bits and Pieces: New projects for Mark, Josh and Liz

UPenn

A bunch of Hollywood bits and pieces about Penn alumni deals to report on including
  • a new VH1 reality show
  • a new half hour NBC comedy
  • a new atypical role for Elizabeth Banks
More after the jump!

Mark Cronin and VH1 and UPenn
Reality guru Mark Cronin (ENG'86, Mask and Wig, Penn in Pictures 2010 panelist) debuts his new half-hour docu-series "Bret Michaels: Life as I know it" on October 18 at 10 pm.  The show will focus on Bret's family/home life with his 2 daughters.

My past posts about Mark HERE (remember how many hundreds of millions he sold his production company for?!)

Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa and UPenn
Josh Goldsmith (C'93) and Cathy Yuspa are set to write a new Jack Black NBC half hour comedy based on the non-fiction book The Guinea Pig Diaries: My Life as an Experiment. The premise for the series is about the self-improvement experiments a guy conducts that freak out his family.

FYI, for those of you not familiar with Josh... Josh was was the Executive Producer of "The King of Queens", wrote What Women Want and was a Penn in Pictures 2002 panelist.

Elizabeth Banks and UPenn
Liz Banks (C'96) will play the female lead in Man On A Ledge, an upcoming drama that stars Sam Worthington, Jamie Bell and Anthony Mackie.   Yes, more drama for Liz.

"Banks will play an NYPD crisis negotiator who tries to talk a suicidal detective (Worthington) off a ledge. She has a past relationship with the ex-cop, who was framed for a crime he didn't commit." (source)
